A leading council is seeking a dedicated caretaker for Chalfont St Peter Infant School. The role involves maintaining a safe and inspiring environment, ensuring high standards of health and safety, and performing various caretaking duties. Ideal candidates will possess GCSEs in English and Maths, alongside general maintenance skills and a positive work ethic.

Term time only
Salary Type: Bucks pay
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 37 per week plus 5 inset days plus 3 weeks during school holidays to be agreed with the Headteacher
Interviews to be held: Week commencing 9/6/25

The successful candidate will undertake general caretaking duties under the direction of the Headteacher. You will be involved in the maintenance and improvement of the school site, ensuring high standards of Health & Safety, you will also be required to undertake relevant training for this post. Main duties to include.
Site security
Maintenance of the school site
Health & Safety
Porterage as required
Some cleaning duties
Occasional out of hours work to cover school events ( overtime where required)
The successful candidate will be conscientious, reliable and flexible
We are looking for:
GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
General repairs and maintenance skills
Previous experience is desirable but not essential
Willingness to participate in school life
Flexibility and positive work ethic
The ability to develop professional relationships and work as part of a team.
