Job summary

Pinnacle Group is seeking an experienced Caretaker to maintain our buildings, ensure security, health & safety compliance and a welcoming environment at Arbour Vale School, Slough.

In this full-time role, you will perform routine maintenance, manage repairs, supervise cleaning, and follow established safety procedures across the site, with shifts 6.30–14:30 or 10:30–18:30, Monday to Friday. You will thrive in a team and take pride in high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as caretaker or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Ability to carry out minor repairs and decorating works.
• Good customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day to day caretaking duties according to the daily schedule such as attending to repairs logged on the Help Desk or reported by Site Manager.
• Carrying out daily litter pick of School grounds, changing external bins, sweeping external areas, checking toilets, etc.
• Carry out defined Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks such as twice weekly flushing of outlets, weekly Sprinkler Alarm test, Weekly Fire Alarm Test, Monthly Fire Door and Fire Extinguisher Checks.
• Respond to emergencies such as floods, floor spillages, body fluid clean up and arranging rectification per procedures.
• Carry out minor repairs and decoration works.
• Be proactive by noticing deficiencies and reporting to Site Manager or Senior Caretaker.

Pinnacle Group are looking for an experienced Caretaker to ensure our buildings and facilities are well-maintained, secure, fully functional and Health & Safety compliant.

You will be joining our Facilities Management team based at Arbour Vale School in Slough. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance, managing repairs, ensuring security protocols are followed and keeping the premises clean and orderly. You will need to be proactive, detail-oriented, and have excellent problem-solving skills. This is a full-time role with alternating shift patterns between the working hours of 6.30AM - 2.30PM or 10.30AM-6.30AM, Monday-Friday.

• Respond to emergency situations such as floods, floor spillages, body fluid clean up and arranging temporary or permanent rectification in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescaled.
• Carry out minor repairs and decoration works
• Being proactive by noticing any deficiencies in the facilities and either rectifying if withing capabilities, or bringing the defect to the attention of the Site Manager or Senior Caretaker

Key requirements:

• Range of general handyperson skills such as general DIY skills, minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical
• Good customer service skills
• Amenable and approachable personality
• Ability to liaise with and assist external service providers
• Ability to work in a team
