Caretaker’s Core Duties
  • Assist the Head Caretaker/Facilities Manager in managing Health and Safety procedures.
  • Help maintain and develop the school premises.
  • Provide flexibility to assist the Site Team at both sites as needed, including working varied hours.
  • Ensure safeguarding and promote the welfare of children and young people in line with child protection procedures.
  • Keep paths, drives, and other hard surfaces within the site grounds clean and tidy. Empty rubbish bins around the site.
  • Undertake repairs and maintenance around the site when necessary.
  • Perform weekly maintenance of the 3G pitch.
Caretaker’s Skills Required
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a school environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in DIY and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritise the needs and safety of children and staff.
  • A full driver’s license is desirable.
  • Understanding of the management of a public building, e.g., heating, lighting, maintenance.
  • Experience with building and maintenance projects.
  • Experience working with secondary school students.

The post requires working weekly shift patterns, including a 30-minute lunch break.
