Pay Rate: £12.85 per hour (PAYE) / £16.32 per hour (Umbrella)

We’re looking for dedicated individuals to fill temporary Caretaker roles at a local school in Abergavenny. This 12-week position offers a chance to provide essential cleaning and caretaking services while supporting a welcoming educational environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Open and close the premises at designated times, ensuring security and safe conditions.
  • Perform daily cleaning duties to maintain a hygienic and functional space.
  • Oversee heating systems, monitor fuel usage, and maintain energy conservation records.
  • Handle basic maintenance tasks (e.g., fixing door handles, tap washers) and report defects.
  • Manage refuse disposal, fire safety checks, and stock replenishment.
  • Support school activities, including minor repairs and teamwork with staff.
  • Be available for emergency call-outs or overtime as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • 2 years of references/work history.
  • A Standard DBS check (required upon acceptance).
  • Experience in team working, basic admin, or cleaning duties (caretaking experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of security, health & safety, and basic site management.
  • Practical skills and ability to handle emergencies calmly.
  • Welsh language skills desirable but not essential.
