As Caretaker at Akeley Wood, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school's buildings and grounds are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose. You\'ll support the day-to-day operations of the school across our campuses — carrying out maintenance tasks, managing contractors, and ensuring all compliance checks are completed on time. You\'ll also assist with setting up for events, transporting equipment, and handling deliveries. As a keyholder, you may be called upon out of hours for emergencies or access. This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same, and your contribution is essential to the smooth running of school life.

You are practical, reliable, and take pride in keeping environments safe and well maintained. With strong problem-solving skills and experience in general maintenance or DIY, you\'re confident managing a range of repair tasks and liaising with contractors. You understand the importance of compliance and health and safety, and can use basic IT systems to manage tasks and log issues. You\'re a team player, adaptable, and willing to pitch in wherever needed. Above all, you\'re someone who thrives in a busy school setting and takes satisfaction in supporting students and staff each day.
