Job description

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity at Potens for a School Caretaker.

Location: Based at our Dorchester site, with occasional support needed at Weymouth.

Closing date: 12/06/25 (may close earlier if suitable candidates are found).

About Arbour House School: An independent SEN school for young people aged 6-18 with complex needs, offering a bespoke curriculum focused on developing independence and real-life skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting routine maintenance and odd jobs to ensure smooth operations
  • Coordinating with external contractors and liaising with the estates department
  • Maintaining health and safety standards and records
  • Supporting keyholding and responding to out-of-hours callouts
  • Maintaining grounds and external areas
  • Supporting the Weymouth site as needed

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience with maintenance tasks and willingness to undertake them
  • Effective communication skills with staff and students with SEN
  • Flexibility, teamwork, and proficiency with basic Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
