Job Role: Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will help and assist the team with daily routines including personal care and feeding. Candidates must have at least 6 months of care experience and demonstrate compassion.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers will assist with daily care tasks and are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics. If you enjoy caring for people and making a positive difference, this could be your ideal job.

As a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of nursing staff alongside other healthcare professionals. Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Assisting with feeding
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around
• Assisting with toilet needs and collecting bedpans
• Maintaining a tidy ward or home environment
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily tasks may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients between departments. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
