Job Role: Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess lots of compassion.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers will help with the day-to-day care of patients. They are vital members of teams in hospitals, care homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you would work under the supervision of nursing staff and alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties could include:

1. Helping patients to wash, shower, or dress
2. Serving food or assisting with eating
3. Making and changing beds
4. Turning patients confined to beds to prevent pressure sores
5. Talking to patients to help them feel less anxious
6. Helping patients move around if difficult
7. Assisting with bedpans and toileting
8. Maintaining tidiness in wards or patient’s homes
9. Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids and equipment to help lift and move patients. In hospitals, you may also escort patients between departments. With experience, you could be involved in training new healthcare assistants.

We also supply staff to both NHS and private sectors, including roles such as Nurse, General Nurse, RGN, NMC, Nurse Band 5, Band 6, HCA, Community Nurse, and Specialist Nurse roles in A&E, Endoscopy, and Theatre.
