Job summary

Highland Home Carers in Scotland is seeking a Care Assistant to support clients in their own homes across Tain and surrounding areas. You will work in line with assessed needs, providing person-centred care to help people remain independent at home.

No prior care experience is required, but you must be committed to delivering high-quality care and support, with full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Flexibility to work weekend shifts.
• Candidates able to work from and travel to Tain.
• Willingness to register with the SSSC and keep registration up to date.

Responsibilities

• Support with personal care, mobility, medication and dietary needs.
• Follow Support Plans and maintain records per policy.
• Provide care in individuals' homes and communities.

Job description

• Salary/Hourly rate: £13.50 - £15.13/Hour + £0.45 (per mile) mileage allowance + Competitive benefits

About the Role

As a Care Assistant, you will be a vital part of our person-centred, holistic approach care, provided in line with assessed need on an individual basis. Supporting individuals to remain in their own homes, local communities and familiar surroundings.

You do not need to have experience of care and support work (with exception to overseas applicants as above), but you need to be committed to making a difference to people’s lives by delivering high-quality care and support.

Typical shifts can look like

• Support with personal care needs, mobility, medication and dietary requirements, respecting choice and dignity at all times
• Work in accordance with Support Plans through ongoing reviews to help meet the individuals physical and emotional needs
• Maintaining factual records in accordance with HHC policies and procedures

What are We Looking For

• Full and valid UK Driving Licence required & access to own vehicle
• Flexibility to work weekend shift patterns
• Candidates able to work from and/or travel to Tain
• A willingness to become registered with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) and to keep registration up to date
• Undertake and attend any job-related training or review meetings as requested
