Job summary

Carers First in Lincolnshire is seeking a Carer Support Adviser to help improve the lives of unpaid carers. This hybrid role combines community visits in Spalding/Sleaford/Grantham/Bourne with some home working.

You will manage conversations with carers, write statutory carers assessments for Lincolnshire County Council, provide information and wellbeing support, and run wellbeing groups, while developing partnerships to identify carers in need.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with adults in 1:1 or group settings.
  • Working knowledge of health and social care particularly for adults.
  • Excellent written skills to help carers identify needs and complete statutory assessments.

Job description

Central Office: Michael Gill Building, Tolgate Lane, Strood, Kent, ME2 4TG United Kingdom

Salary: £24,454 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Location: This is a hybrid role which involves community working in the Spalding/Sleaford/Grantham/Bourne area of Lincolnshire and some home working. You must be able to support carers face to face in the South Holland, South Kesteven, and North Kesteven areas of Lincolnshire.

About this role

As a Carer Support Adviser, you will be part of our Operational Team, helping to improve the lives of carers through your work. This role will include:

  • managing conversations with carers to identify need
  • writing statutory carers assessments on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council
  • providing information, advice, and wellbeing support
  • running wellbeing groups and pro-active identification of carers through partnership working.

About you

To be successful you will have

  • experience of working with adults either in a 1:1 or group setting
  • a working knowledge of health and social care particularly in relation to adults
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • a high standard of written skills is needed in order to help the carer identify their support needs and to complete statutory assessments
