Job description

The Opportunity

The Caregiver position provides support for our community’s residents with the essential day-to-day tasks they can no longer perform or need help with. Caregivers are responsible for helping people with their daily tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, bathing, dressing, and taking their medication. Successful Caregivers are sensitive, respectful, and passionate about helping those in need.

What You’ll Do

  1. Help residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  2. Support residents with medication management.
  3. Reposition residents in bed and escort them around the community.
  4. Assist with toileting and incontinent care.
  5. Take vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and pulse.
  6. Observe and report on residents’ health, escalating any problems efficiently and effectively.
  7. Complete daily reports for the Nurse or designated charge person at the end of each shift.
  8. Provide emotional support and serve as a source of comfort for residents and their loved ones.
  9. Assist residents with mobility, including getting in and out of bed, chairs, or wheelchairs.
  10. Assist residents with eating and drinking.
  11. Ensure resident safety, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain effective communication.

What You’ll Bring

Position Requirements / Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; mandatory in certain states.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old or meet the age requirement specified by state regulations.
  • Experience working independently, in teams, and on projects from start to finish.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills.
  • Dedication to the medical field and working with residents.
  • Ability to pass state and company background checks and drug tests.
  • Ability to take vital signs.
  • Experience assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  • Knowledge of medication supervision within the scope of state regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
