Job description

We seek compassionate individuals to assist seniors in their homes with a variety of tasks, from companionship to personal care, in the Bennington, Manchester, Dorset, Bondville & Rutland areas.

Responsibilities

1. Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
2. Remind clients to take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
3. Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.).
4. Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals, and help with physical therapy exercises.
5. Complete clients’ shopping or accompany them to do so successfully.
6. Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents.
7. Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
8. Offer activities essential for daily living, including assisting patients with meals, serving, and other tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

• This role will be per diem, but part-time and full-time hours may be provided.
• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting; eager to improve and learn new skills.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every day.
• Proven ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
• Availability to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
• Prior experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum 1 year).
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
• Supportive and compassionate attitude.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; experience as a Caregiver preferred.
• Hoyer Lift experience (specific to client).
