Job summary

Maidstone Grammar School for Girls is seeking an Aspirations & Careers Lead to deliver a personalised careers service and provide guidance on post-16 options, university degrees and degree apprenticeships. The role works as part of the school’s pastoral and sixth form teams within a term-time year, including August results days.

The post requires enhanced DBS and an online safeguarding check, with pro rata annual leave, strong professional development support and LGPS pension arrangements.

Qualifications

• DBS check is required.
• Online check of shortlisted candidates under Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a personalised careers service across the school.
• Advise students on post-16 choices.
• Advise students on university degrees and degree apprenticeships.
• Lead careers education, information, advice and guidance as part of a whole-school approach.
• Work with the Pastoral Team to support students in each year group.
• Work with the Sixth Form Team to support Year 13 students into their destinations beyond school.
• Work 40 weeks a year, including the August A level and GCSE results dates.
