Job description

Careers and Employability Advisors

Location: Victoria/Soho, Tottenham, Kings Cross (must be flexible to work across sites)
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am 5pm
Pay: £19 - £22 per hour
Start Date: 19th August or 1st September
Contract Type: Long-term temporary role

We are recruiting Careers and Employability Advisors to support students at a leading post-16 college in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group careers guidance to students
  • Support learners in developing employability skills and exploring future pathways
  • Liaise with employers, training providers, and higher education institutions to identify progression opportunities
  • Assist with CV writing, job applications, and interview preparation
  • Deliver workshops and contribute to careers events and employability initiatives
  • Assist in the development of resources, including e-resources, to support careers, higher education, apprenticeships, employment, and training pathways
  • Provide guidance to vocational and academic students on post-18 options
  • Support tutors in delivering careers education, higher education, apprenticeships, employment, and training programmes
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of careers education, enterprise and employability programmes for students, in collaboration with the Enterprise, Employability and Careers Manager, other EEC Advisers, and relevant partners

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree plus a qualification in Careers Guidance (Level 6 careers equivalent) OR a Level 6 in Careers Guidance qualification
  • Experience providing careers advice and employability support, ideally within education or youth services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and student-focused approach
  • Flexibility to travel across college sites as required
