Job summary

Nova Hreod Academy in Swindon is seeking an enthusiastic Careers Advisor to lead and deliver our careers education programme and prepare students for further education, training and employment.

You will work with students, staff, employers and external partners to ensure high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance, helping pupils develop knowledge, confidence and pathways to success after school.

Qualifications

• A Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification (or working towards).
• Experience delivering careers guidance in a secondary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of careers education and guidance best practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the school’s careers education programme.
• Help students prepare for transitions into further education, training and employment.
• Collaborate with staff, employers and external partners to deliver high-quality guidance.

The Role

Essential

• A Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification (or be working towards completion).
• Experience of delivering careers guidance within a secondary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of careers education and guidance best practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to engage and inspire young people from a wide range of backgrounds.
• Experience of supporting students with progression planning and destination pathways.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Desirable

• Experience of using Compass+ and Unifrog.
• Knowledge of the Gatsby Benchmarks.
• Experience of supporting vulnerable learners and reducing NEET risk.
• Experience of working with employers, higher education providers and external partners.
