Job summary

Hampshire County Council is recruiting a Careers Adviser to deliver high-quality, impartial CEIAG to students in schools and FE colleges, predominantly across the north of the county. The role is based in Basingstoke with hybrid working (3 days remote) as part of Hampshire Futures.

You will support young people to explore options, build confidence and take next steps toward education, training or employment, contributing to reducing NEET and improving participation.

Qualifications

  • Level 6 Career Guidance qualification (or currently working towards).
  • Experience delivering CEIAG for young people.
  • Strong knowledge of post-16 and post-18 pathways.
  • Experience working with young people with SEN/SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and supporting all young people to succeed.
  • Be part of a highly supportive and established careers team that values collaboration.
  • Experience high levels of job satisfaction through meaningful, direct work with young people.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the service.

As a Careers Adviser, you will support young people to make informed decisions about their future, helping them to explore their options, build confidence and take their next steps. Joining Hampshire Futures, you’ll deliver high-quality, impartial careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) to students in schools and further education colleges, primarily across the north of the county.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference – supporting young people to successfully transition into education, training or employment. Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you’ll contribute to improving participation and reducing the number of young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

What you’ll do
