Job Role

We're hiring a CIAG Adviser to join our team. As a CIAG Adviser, you will work within prison settings, empowering individuals to develop skills, confidence, and aspirations for a fresh start through tailored career coaching, workshops, and personalized action plans. You will inspire individuals to envision and achieve brighter futures beyond custody. This role offers a chance to transform lives, reduce reoffending, and strengthen communities.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £24,650 to £29,000 (dependent on experience) along with benefits such as:

Location: HMP Send and HMP Downview

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Closing Date: 13 May 2025

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a prisoner caseload, supporting personal and team targets, including MI requirements.
  • Record all prisoner interactions on relevant systems, updating case notes and MI systems.
  • Document advice and goals in Learning and Work Plans with SMART objectives.
  • Meet and exceed performance targets related to prisoner engagement and progression.
  • Support service continuity across prisons and attend meetings or external events as needed.

  • High initiative and motivation with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Accountability for professional development and training.
  • Customer/service user focus.
