Job Description:

Brightpoint Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and is one of the largest of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. The college is located within the Greater Richmond metropolitan area. It serves students and the community at its two campuses, in Chester and Midlothian; online; and in locations throughout its service area. Brightpoint Community College’s mission is to provide quality educational opportunities that inspire student success and community vitality. It envisions a success story for every student.

The Part-Time Radiologic Technology Advisor provides essential one-on-one support to continuing CTE students, guiding them through course selection, program mapping, and registration processes. This role involves close collaboration with faculty and deans to ensure consistent advising messaging and referring students to appropriate wraparound services when needed. The advisor also plays a key role in supporting early alert and retention initiatives for CTE programs, and assists with recruitment events, enrollment campaigns, and new student orientations.

This is a restricted part-time position funded though the Perkins grant. Employment is contingent upon continued grant funding, which is currently secured through June 30, 2027. Renewal beyond this period is dependent on future funding availability. At a rate of $30 per hour, this funding will support up to 798 hours of work through June 30, 2027.

This role demands excellent organizational and time management skills to manage student caseloads, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records. A high degree of professionalism, ethics, confidentiality, and adherence to FERPA are paramount. The position also requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate student needs, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with various college departments.
