CrossReach in Scotland is seeking a Care Worker to support older people in our care home. You will assist with daily living, meals, and activities, helping residents live safely, independently and with dignity.
Full induction is provided; PVG checks and SSSC registration are required, and the SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare is desirable. We value compassion, teamwork and a genuine commitment to care, with opportunities for training and development.
As a Care Worker in our care home, you will play a key role in supporting older people to live safely, comfortably and with dignity each day. Through practical support, encouragement and companionship, you'll help residents maintain their independence, achieve their personal goals and enjoy the best possible quality of life.
Whether you're supporting someone with their morning routine, helping them take part in an activity they enjoy or simply being there to listen, you'll make a meaningful difference every day.
You will be caring, reliable and committed to supporting older people to live well. You'll enjoy working as part of a team and understand the importance of treating every resident with dignity, respect and compassion. Previous experience in care is welcome but not essential. We're equally interested in people with the right values, a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to support others. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the SSSC.
Many of our colleagues joined us from retail, hospitality, customer service, administration and other sectors. We'll provide a full induction, ongoing training and support to help you build your confidence, develop your skills and grow your career.
At CrossReach, you'll join a team that values compassion, respect and teamwork. We invest in our people, support professional development and create opportunities to build a rewarding long-term career.
We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.
But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
CrossReach has been at the forefront of high quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full whatever their circumstances. Today we are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, with experience across a broad range of services. We are part of the Church of Scotland and aim to provide social care services and specialist resources in Christ’s name to further the caring work of the Church to people in challenging circumstances.
As we do our work in Christ’s name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.
This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
