Job description

To provide a personal care service to individuals with Intellectual Disability and Mental Health Difficulties within a respite service setting, in an environment which values and respects the individual, fosters a positive behavioral support approach to supporting people with challenging behaviors, and promotes community-based living, personal development, and social inclusion.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Health & Social Care
• Experience working in a residential/respite care setting
• Experience supporting service users with relevant disabilities and challenging behaviors
• Understanding and experience working with clients with disabilities, maintaining high standards of care in line with RehabCare’s policies and HIQA standards

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Facilitate and implement a person-centered service tailored to the needs, wishes, and requirements of service users.
• Provide personal assistance, including personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort, hygiene, and safety.
• Interact with service users with dignity, respect, and equality, incorporating their choices.
• Participate in educational, recreational, and occupational programs to enable community integration and access to local resources.
