Overview

Join Adept Care Homes, a family-run provider offering high-quality residential and dementia care across the Midlands. At our luxury 75-bed Chetwynd House, we’re passionate about enriching the lives of our residents through compassionate, person-centred care. As a Care Team Leader on our Dementia Floor, you will lead and support a dedicated care team to deliver person-centred, high-quality care for residents living with dementia. Working closely with the Care Home Management Team and Company Dementia Manager you will lead best practices including the use of validation techniques, life story work and behaviour support strategies to reduce distress and enhance wellbeing. You will oversee daily routines, manage care plans and assessments, run the keyworker system, and ensure accurate documentation and medication handling is in line with best practices. You will collaborate with families and healthcare professionals, take part in care shifts when needed, and support team development through mentoring and supervision. Your role is key in fostering a calm, engaging, and respectful environment where residents feel safe, understood, and valued, while upholding confidentiality, ensuring compliance, and championing Adept’s vision of creating an outstanding place to live and work.

What we are looking for
  • Experience of managing a team in a care home setting (essential)
  • NVQ level 3 (or higher) in health and social care (essential)
  • Proven extensive experience in dementia care (essential)
  • Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills
  • Experience working on an electronic care planning and medication systems
  • Good understanding of dementia and the impact the diseases may have on the person and those around them
