Job Role: Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months experience in care and be compassionate.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers will help with daily care activities and are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of Nursing staff and alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Serving food or assisting with eating
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Assisting patients with mobility
• Providing and collecting bedpans and helping with toileting
• Maintaining tidiness of wards or patient homes
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients between departments. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
