Job Role: Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess a compassionate attitude.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers will help with daily care routines and are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under nursing staff supervision, alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Assisting patients with mobility
• Managing bedpans and helping with toileting
• Ensuring tidy ward or patient’s home environment
• Maintaining supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients within hospitals. With experience, you could participate in induction training for new healthcare assistants.
