Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess a compassionate attitude.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers will help with the day-to-day care and are vital members of teams in hospitals, care homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of nursing staff alongside other healthcare assistants.

Your duties may include:

  1. Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
  2. Serving food or assisting with eating
  3. Making and changing beds
  4. Turning patients confined to bed to prevent pressure sores
  5. Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
  6. Helping patients move if difficult
  7. Assisting with bedpans and toileting
  8. Maintaining cleanliness of wards or homes
  9. Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids, escorting patients, and possibly training new healthcare assistants.
