A special needs school in the UK seeks care support workers to support young people with severe learning difficulties and autism. The role involves managing behaviours, providing academic support, and fostering life skills in a compassionate environment. Applicants must possess relevant experience and qualifications, with a focus on safeguarding children's welfare.
Protocol Education are currently recruiting care support workers for a special needs school with young people, aged 3 - 19 who have severe and complex learning difficulties and learners with an additional diagnosis of autism and/or physical/sensory difficulties.
The aim of our school is to provide an inspired and practical learning environment with a focus upon success and the development of citizenship and life skills. This role requires perseverance, confidence and determination as you may need to handle challenging situations strongly, therefore you will need to be prepared. You will need to be flexible, have plenty of enthusiasm, motivation, good communication skills and the ability to work 1-1 or with small groups on specific programmes if required.
The most important part of your role is to create and promote positive outcomes and behaviour. This is improved by clear boundaries and structure, to create emotional stability and physical safety.
Please note due to the current circumstances and schools being temporarily closed, this role will hopefully start in May half-term. However This is Subject to change and could start in September 2020

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
