Job summary

Your Life Your Way in London, SW18, is seeking a Care Support Assistant to join a dedicated team delivering person-centred support to a young woman who is deaf and blind with learning disabilities. You will receive full training and start at £19.50 per hour.

This role involves an average of 20 hours per week with day and night shifts. You will be required to complete pre-employment checks including enhanced DBS and references. A good standard of spoken and written English is essential.

Qualifications

• A qualification in British Sign Language (BSL).
• Caring and empathetic nature with good communication abilities.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Basic IT and record‑keeping skills for care documentation.
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support with personal care and daily living activities.
• Support with nutritional intake and hydration.
• Help maintain a safe environment and follow care plans.
• Administer medication as required under guidance.
• Support client’s sensory needs and regulation.

About the Role

As a Care Support Assistant, you will receive full training to help you thrive in your role and gain confidence in providing quality care. After training is completed, you will receive a competitive rate of pay of £19.50 per hour

This position involves an average of 20 hours per week, including day shifts and waking night shifts. Shift patterns are:

• 8am until 3pm – Monday to Sunday
• 3pm to 10pm – Monday to Sunday
• 10pm to 8am – Monday to Sunday

Your Responsibilities as a Care Support Assistant

• Support with personal care
• Support with nutritional intake via Gastrostomy
• Support to maintain a safe environment
• Administering medication when required
• Supporting with our clients sensory needs and regulation

What We’re Looking For

• A qualification in British sign language
• A caring and empathetic nature
• Good communication skills
• A genuine desire to support others
• Basic IT and record-keeping skills
• Must have a qualification in British sign language
• Experience supporting people with a learning disability and challenging behaviour would be an advantage but not essential.
