Job summary

McCarthy Stone is seeking a part-time Care Assistant to support residents at Lancer House, a Retirement Living PLUS development for the over 70s. The role involves assisting with daily tasks, social activities, and helping residents maintain independence in one central on-site location.

The position offers 20 hours per week with shifts including evenings and weekends, paid training (funded Level 2 or 3 in Adult Care), pension and life insurance, and an Employee Assistance Program.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1+ year in a UK health and social care role preferred.
• Qualification: Level 2 QCF in Health and Social Care (Adults) is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting residents with daily domestic tasks such as appointments, light cleaning, laundry and shopping.
• Assisting with social activities and wellbeing routines.
• Promoting independence, dignity, and community engagement.

Lancer House is a Retirement Living PLUS development exclusively for the over 70s. This development comprises 53 apartments with numerous communal facilities such as a Club Lounge, a Wellness Suite and a bistro-style restaurant which serves freshly prepared food daily

You will be working a mix of early shifts, and late shifts, including alternate weekends.
