Job summary

McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a Care Assistant to join the team at Twelve Acres Place in Chichester. This Retirement Living Plus development provides on-site facilities for residents aged 70 and over, with 62 apartments set in pleasant grounds.

You will deliver high quality personal care, housekeeping, and support with activities, appointments, transport, and shopping. The role is 25 hours per week and pays £14.12 per hour plus up to £1.30 for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Warm, friendly individual with experience in care or support.
• Passion for wellbeing of older people and ability to work in a busy team.
• Desire to deliver excellent customer service; QCF Level 2 preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality personal care and support to residents.
• Deliver housekeeping and domestic tasks including apartment cleans.
• Encourage residents to take part in activities that support health and wellbeing.
• Assist with appointments, transport, and escort residents when needed.
• Support shopping and day-to-day activities to promote independence.

Built in 2025, Twelve Acres Place is a Retirement Living Plus development that consists of 62 apartments with the over 70's in mind, providing excellent on-site facilities and set within beautiful grounds.

Hourly rate

£14.12 per hour, plus earn up to an additional £1.30 for working evening and weekend hours

About the role

As a Care Assistant you will provide the highest quality of individual care to our residents enabling them to live later life well. You will deliver housekeeping and domestic support across the general estate, including apartment cleans. Duties will be varied and include supporting and encouraging our residents to take part in a wide range of activities that support their health and wellbeing. You will help them to book appointments, arrange transport and where necessary, escort them on visits and assist with their shopping. Every day will be diverse, and you’ll have the opportunity to use your people skills to make a real difference.

About you

• You will be a warm, friendly individual with ideally some experience of working in a care or support environment.
• You will have a passion for making a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of older people and enjoy working as part of team in a busy work setting.
• You will be driven to deliver excellent customer service.
• You will want to work in the Health and Social care sector and preferably have a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 2 qualification,although consideration will be given to a candidate with an alternative qualifications and relevant experience.
