Job description

Care Services Team Leader
Supported Living Service, Wigston
6 months
Monday to Friday, 37 hrs/week Office based

  • Assist in the management and delivery of high quality Community Life Choices, Short Breaks, Supported Living and Residential Care services
  • Manage a staff group, promoting an inclusive environment in which service users are encouraged to maintain independence, choice and control in the care and support that they receive
  • Recruit, induct, train, motivate and manage a team, including undertaking staff competency assessments
  • Complete staff supervisions, chair staff meetings, carry out performance development reviews and undertake a range of management functions such as recruitment and selection, attendance management, disciplinary and capability
  • Plan, organise, devise a service rota and maintain an effective complement of staff at all times to meet service requirements
  • Ensure service assets and resources including buildings and equipment is maintained to a high standard
  • Provide general day to day support and promote service user autonomy, assisting with financial, domestic and daily living activities as necessary
  • Attend to service users personal care and hygiene needs sensitively e.g. washing, dressing, continence and maintain an environment that facilitates independence, individuality and dignity
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of a balanced, healthy and culturally-appropriate diet, including helping service users to shop and prepare meals and drinks, directly assisting when necessary
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of Council policies and procedures; service frameworks, regulatory and legislative requirements
Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or other equivalent qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent level of relevant experience
  • Experience at a supervisory level in adult social care
  • Experience of working with other agencies and/or of working in a multi-agency or multi-disciplinary environment to identify and meet need with creative and pragmatic solutions
  • Experience of undertaking holistic assessments and developing comprehensive person centred support plans and risk assessments
  • Child and Adult DBS registered the update service
