Herts at Home - Care Quality Supervisor for Extra Care in Tabor Court, Letchworth

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Herts at Home for a new Care Quality Supervisor to work at Tabor Court.

Purpose of the Job

Contributes effectively and professionally to support staff and customers within the operational team.

Care Quality Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that services provided are effective, efficient, and result in positive, personalised outcomes for both staff and customers. They offer guidance, information, and advice related to care situations, while also supporting the Care Team Manager (CTM) in the management of care staff.

Care Quality Supervisors will work alongside the CTM to promote best practices within the service, ensuring that customers receive the necessary support for their care needs. They collaborate with community groups, other organisations, and local members to achieve favourable outcomes for people we support.

Care Quality Supervisors will play a key role in leading staff development and learning initiatives in alignment with development programs and workforce strategies, providing coaching, mentoring, and supervision as appropriate.

Additionally, Care Quality Supervisors will assist in coordinating responses to safeguarding concerns that arise, supporting the identification of safeguarding plans to mitigate risks. They will oversee the collection of relevant information to be presented to the Care Team Manager and/or Senior Managers and ensure that all outcomes of investigations are recorded accurately and that records are kept up to date.

Person Specification

· Must have An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or willing to work toward this.

· Communicates positively and with clarity.

· Strong IT, report writing, data analysis and written skills.

· Acts in a self-directed, proactive way to identify / develop opportunities ideas & innovation.

· Keeps calm and focused under pressurised and challenging circumstances.

· Mentors, coaches, supports and supervises staff to be accountable, proactive, innovative, autonomous and to enhance performance.

· Interprets research, audits, and case law, presenting insights clearly to inform practice.

· Supervise and support team members’ capabilities to meet service standards, setting clear performance expectations.

· Leads by example, providing direction and articulating the company’s main priorities, culture, values and behaviours.

· Promotes a culture of openness and honesty and challenges inappropriate behaviour from others.

· Finds innovative solutions to meet identified needs of customers.

Special Requirements

Access to a car and a full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential. You will be required to attend meetings at sites other than your own work base.

About the role

Work Schedule:

5 over 7 days on a rota pattern, including early, late, and weekend shifts.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Ensure services are effective and efficient, resulting in positive outcomes.

Provide care-related guidance and advice.

Support the Care Team Manager in staff management.

Engage with, assist, and advise carers/families, conducting assessments and reviews for safe care delivery.

Support customers in taking positive risks and complete relevant paperwork.

Provide team support and direction on legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, and Mental Health Act, adhering to CQC standards.

Deputise for the manager in their absence.
