Job summary

Willowbrook Homecare Hyndburn is seeking a motivated Care Manager to support the Registered Manager and lead the delivery of high-quality, person-centred homecare services across the Hyndburn branch. You will ensure compliance with policies, manage referrals and rosters, drive staff development, and foster a positive, patient-focused culture while coordinating with the senior team.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 Diploma in Health & Social Care Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a manager in domiciliary/social care.
  • Good knowledge of Care Quality Commission (CQC) and inspection approach.
  • Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring care staff.
  • Knowledge of rostering/scheduling systems and strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Hyndburn operations team with the delivery of Willowbrook’s high-quality service.
  • Support the Registered Manager to maintain a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensure referrals are managed efficiently and in line with service contracts.
  • Manage enquiries to the Hyndburn service with the Care Coordinator and Field Care Supervisors.
  • Coordinate care plans and risk assessments to ensure safe, client-centered care.
  • Monitor training records and policy readings to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with staff recruitment and interviews to maintain staffing levels.
  • Roster services with Care Coordinators to ensure efficient coverage.
  • Prepare Hyndburn on-call rota two weeks in advance for out-of-hours cover.
  • Review head office mileage submissions and liaise with payroll.
  • Escalate safeguarding matters as required and liaise with managers.

Job specification/Responsibilities

  • To support the Hyndburn operations team with the delivery of Willowbrook’s high-quality service.
  • To support the Registered Manager tomaintaina positive workplace culture.
  • To ensure referrals are managed in an efficient manner andin accordance withservice specification requirements as set out in Council service contracts.
  • To manage enquiries to the Hyndburn service, working with the CareCoordinator and Field Care Supervisortoorganise initial visits and assessments.
  • Liaise with the Care Plan lead with regard to clients’ care plans and risk assessments to ensure they are completed to company standards and to ensure care is provided safely and in line with client needs and wishes.
  • Tobe responsible formonitoring employee training records and policy and procedure reading lists to ensure they are compliant.
  • To monitor staff capacity and work with the team to recruit staff, including conducting staff interviews.
  • To work withtheCare Coordinator/s to ensure services are rostered effectively and efficiently.
  • To compile the Hyndburn branch on-call rota, 2 weeks in advance of each quarter to ensure sufficient out-of-hours cover.
  • To review and authorise the Head Officemileagesubmissions in line with Willowbrook’sprocedure.
  • Tocollate and authorise Head Office timesheetsand provide information to payroll in line with Willowbrook’s procedure.
  • To elevate issues with DBS checks to the Registered Manager who will undertake a Risk Assessment.
  • To ensure supervisions of the care team are conducted in linewith Willowbrook’s procedures.
  • To ensure appraisals are conducted in line with Willowbrook’s procedures.
  • To report any concernsor complaints made about the service to the Registered Manager.
  • To conduct investigations (disciplinary, grievances, complaints, concerns)asrequired.
  • To review sickness reports (Hyndburn)and manage staff absence in line with Willowbrook’s absence management procedures, liaising with the Finance Manager asrequired.
  • To review staff holiday requests and authorise in line with policy, ensuring sufficient rota cover.
  • To complete sickness,appointmentand absences on JotForm forHead Officestaff.
  • Escalate safeguarding matters to the Registered Manager and raise safeguarding alerts through the relevant portal toLancashire County Councilasrequired.
  • Advisethe Registered Manager and Managing Director of complaints and safeguarding matters.
  • To provide a general daily overview of operations to the Hyndburn Registered Manager to include issues and challenges.
  • To ensure compliance with Willowbrook’s safeguarding Policies and Procedures and those of the relevant Council or Authority.
  • To ensure communication with clients with regard to services required by clients over bank holiday and festive periods.
  • To ensure effective communication with staff with regard to services required over bank holiday and festive periods.
  • To arrange and Chair Team Meetings for Hyndburn branch staff.
  • Toalways ensure reception coverduring office hoursand that reception is not left unattended.
  • To attend Provider meetings asrequired.
