Aberdeenshire Council seeks an assessment officer to evaluate service eligibility for older adults and individuals with physical disabilities under the Social Work (Scotland) Act. The role is fixed-term until July 2026, requiring a commitment to service quality and continuous improvement, with specific checks for vulnerable groups expected.
Undertake assessments within budgetary criteria to determine service eligibility for older adults and individuals with physical disabilities, including acquired brain injuries, under the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968 and relevant legislation related to care management.
Demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and the organization.
Work pattern: 18 hours per week; days and hours to be confirmed with the successful applicant.
Expected interview date: 20/06/2025

This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the candidate has spent more than 3 months out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
The minimum requirement includes two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
