Job Summary

As a Care Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the care home, leading a team of care staff, and ensuring that all residents receive personalised and dignified care. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance with care standards, developing individualised care plans, and supporting the professional growth of your team.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the care home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of care staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
  • Conduct assessments of residents' needs and develop tailored care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee medication administration and ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care and staff performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, including CQC requirements.
  • Implement and oversee training programmes to enhance staff skills and improve service delivery.
  • Ensure the care home operates efficiently, meeting both care and business objectives.
Qualifications
  • Must be a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
  • Proven experience in a senior role (minimum 5 years).
  • At least 5 years of experience in the care sector.
  • Level 5 NVQ (or equivalent) in Leadership & Management, or currently working toward it.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and business development skills.
  • Excellent understanding of CQC standards and compliance requirements.
  • A confident, caring, and motivational personality with a commitment to excellence in care.
  • A valid driving license and UK work authorisation.
Day-to-Day
  • Oversee the smooth running of the care home, ensuring residents' needs are met with dignity and respect.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to provide guidance, feedback, and support to staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Liaise with residents' families and healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and continuity of care.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
