Job summary

Wood Care Group in Doncaster is seeking a Care Manager to lead the home’s care and operations, working with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure high standards of care and compliance.

This is an office-based role requiring strong administrative leadership, rota planning, supervision, and medication audits to support residents and staff.

You will manage people and processes with careful attention to detail, delivering person-centred care for residents and their families.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a Care Home environment is essential.
  • NVQ Level 5 is ideal; NVQ Level 4 is a minimum.

Job description

As the Care Manager, you are part of the management team alongside the Home Manager & the Assistant Deputy Manager’s.

This is an office-based management role, providing strong administrative and operational leadership within the home. You will work closely with the Registered Manager, care team and other professionals to ensure the highest standards of care, compliance and service delivery are maintained.

The successful candidate will be confident managing people, processes and paperwork, with excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality care.

We ask for you to care for our residents like they are your own family, caring for their Physical, Psychological and Social needs. Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals. As well as being able to support the management function of assisting with supervisions, observations, rota planning, medication audits and end of monthly month meds.

This is an ideal role for an Assistant Deputy Manger or Deputy Manager who is looking to progress to a Care Manager in a Company who look after internal staff and like to develop from within.

  • Good communication skills, to communicate with the residents, families, and management team.
  • Previous experience working in a Care Home environment is essential.
  • A committed and organised approach.
  • Flexible to work shifts (including weekends).
  • NVQ level 5 as ideal, NVQ Level 4 a minimum.
  • Available to work on-call within the management team.

Other Duties
  • To Attend Staff Meetings.
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs, demands of the home and participate in appropriate training and encourage and support staff in their development and training.
  • Employee's need to ensure they fully understand their safeguarding responsibility, develop their understand and skills to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care and support. Employee's need to ensure that adults are safeguarded in a way that recognises their choice and control. Ensure that the safeguarding and whistle blowing policies are adhered too at all time.
  • Provide evidence of any untaken training.
  • Comply with fire procedures and health and safety legislation and work in a safe environment.
  • Complete all training as determined by the home.
