Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a first year Chemistry university student, who is looking for like-minded individuals to join their care team. Join their team of PAs who provide their personal care and independent living support. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact in a young adult’s life.

Start Date: 4th July

Shift Pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off - 10 hour shifts

Initial Location: East Didsbury, Manchester (M20)

Future Location: University of Chester (CH1) - Starting From 4th October

Pay: £15 p/h = £1050 p/w

Holidays: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata

About the Job

Our client is looking for someone who can support them at their family home in preparation for going to university. The most important thing for our client is being able to have an open and honest relationship with her PAs. Conversation should flow naturally and you should encourage the client to live their best life possible. Daily duties include but not limited to:

  • Personal Care - Toileting, Dressing, Washing

  • Health Care - Medicine Administration

  • Social Support

  • Daily Living

  • Housekeeping / Domestic duties

  • Commuting

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

About our Client

Our client is seeking a companionship within her PA and aspires to share similar interests such as watching films (specifically Harry Potter), stand up comedy and RPG/puzzle games. Furthermore, our client participated in wheelchair dancing for 11 years and is potentially looking to get back into it again, meaning a positive and open- minded PA is required. The client considers herself introverted and henceforth likes to stay in and read books in her own space or watch Youtube rather than go out, so having a PA to respect her space is highly valuable. She does also have an 8 year old labrador service dog.

As written by her …

The qualities that I would like my PA to have are being able to have a laugh and not take things too seriously (I really like a lot of stand-up comedy and improv comedy.) Patience, as I can be quite slow at doing things unfortunately.

To be a PA of mine you do not need an interest in chemistry. However, I may need you to help me scribe some of my homework assignments…therefore you need to have good English language skills and basic maths skills will most likely be useful as well.

I love to read sci-fi and fantasy books and I play a lot of video games and board games. I also play and run Games of Dungeons and Dragons. In my free time I like a lot of different types of music. I like to go out to the Theatre and cafes.”

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Clean Automatic UK driving licence (Desireable)

  • Excellent sense of humour and ability to not take life too seriously

  • Comfortable with dogs

  • Vaccinated against COVID

  • Physical fitness, patience, and a caring nature

  • Strong communication and listening skills

  • Mature and responsible attitude

  • Fluent in English

  • Clean and tidy appearance

Application Process: To apply, please submit a cover letter describing your interests and explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for this unique and rewarding position.
