Job summary

Oakland Care Ltd in Harpenden is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join our friendly team. Working with the Head Chef, you will deliver nutritious meals that support residents' health and wellbeing.

This permanent, full-time role is 40 hours per week with a pay of £18.00 per hour. You will help create varied menus, cater for dietary needs, and supervise kitchen staff while maintaining high food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in care/hospitality settings.
• Proven ability to plan nutritious, appetising meals and cater for dietary needs.
• Strong organisational and communication skills and team leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing nutritious meals.
• Support varied menus and special diets with attention to allergies and cultural needs.
• Supervise kitchen staff and daily kitchen operations.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
• Ensure meals are served on time and to a high standard.
• Maintain records in line with CQC and food safety requirements.
