Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes in Bristol is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our care home kitchen operations. You will help plan, prepare and serve balanced meals that meet nutritional and dietary needs, while upholding high hygiene standards.

This role involves stock management, record-keeping for fridge temperatures, and working closely with Chefs to deliver quality meals in a caring, fast-paced environment. A customer-focused, flexible team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.
• Committed to customer care and first-class service provision.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support Chefs in planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet nutritional and dietary requirements of residents.
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements.
• Ensure all food meets Food Hygiene Standards and safe methods of work are used.
• Manage stocks and stores with proper labeling and stock rotation.
• Maintain records such as fridge temperature checks to satisfy food hygiene requirements.
