Ideal candidates understand Health and Safety, have food hygiene knowledge, and can work well in a team or independently, potentially with stock management experience and a CIEH Level 2 certificate.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Health and Safety and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Up-to-date CIEH Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience in catering or kitchen is beneficial, ideally in care settings and stock management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare simple meals and ancillary items for service under the Chef.
• Wash dishes by hand or in a dishwasher and store clean items safely.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors to keep them grease-free.
• Wash work tables, walls, equipment and appliances per cleaning schedules.
• Operate kitchen equipment and move between storage and work areas safely.
• Keep the kitchen tidy, rubbish removed and supplies stored properly.
• Follow HACCP and Health and Safety policies and maintain records.
