Qualifications

Job Title: Children Care Assistant/Support Worker

Pay Rate: £20-25/hr

Location: Dundee

A successful youth support worker will be responsible for:
  1. Building positive and trusting relationships with young people, creating a safe and non-judgmental environment for them to express themselves.
  2. Offering emotional support and counselling to help young people navigate challenges and overcome personal obstacles.
  3. Assisting in the development and implementation of individual care plans, tailored to meet each young person's unique needs and goals.
  4. Encouraging educational attainment and providing educational support where necessary.
  5. Facilitating workshops, group activities, and life skills sessions to promote personal development, social skills, and decision-making abilities.
  6. Collaborating with other team members and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to the young person's care.
  7. Monitoring and evaluating progress, maintaining accurate records, and reporting on the young person's development.

To be successful in your application, you will:
  1. Have previous experience working in a care setting with young people
  2. Experience in a secure setting is beneficial, but not essential
  3. Have knowledge of cognitive behavioural approaches, attachment theory and child protection policy
  4. Have experience advocating on behalf of a young person
  5. Register under the PVG scheme
  6. Full driving licence
  7. Obtained SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
