Job summary

Welford Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Operative to support the safe, efficient running of Cedar Court Care Home in Surrey. You will maintain buildings, fixtures, and grounds, carry out routine tasks and safety checks, and support residents and staff in a friendly, capable manner.

The role requires practical maintenance skills, a can-do attitude, and a driving licence. Training, PPE, and ongoing development are provided to help you build a career within our growing care home group.

Qualifications

• Basic maintenance skills including decorating, plumbing, electrical work, PAT testing or willingness to train.
• Ability to use an iPad and Outlook for emails.
• Awareness of health and safety procedures and ability to follow policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance of buildings, fixtures and grounds to keep spaces safe and well presented.
• Complete timely statutory and non-statutory tasks and maintain auditable records.
• Carry out routine maintenance such as changing sockets, light fittings and taps.
• Record tasks using the maintenance logging system.
• Assist residents and move them into their rooms and support personalisation.
• Support with health and safety inspections and report findings.
