Job summary

Serencroft Care Homes is seeking a reliable Laundry Assistant at Woodlands Care Home in Stockport. This part-time role offers 30 hours per week at £12.92 per hour, supporting the day-to-day laundering of residents' clothing and home linen.

You will carry out washing, drying, ironing, sorting, and follow COSHH/infection control procedures to help keep residents comfortable and the home clean. Experience is not essential, but a proactive, hands-on approach is valued, with DBS check and right to

Qualifications

Methodical approach with good attention to detail and hygiene awareness.
Excellent communication skills and a flexible, can-do attitude.
Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

Wash, dry, iron and fold residents' clothing and the homes linen to a high standard.
Sort and label laundry to ensure items return to the correct rooms.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures when handling laundry.
Operate laundry equipment safely and report faults or maintenance issues promptly.
Maintain accurate laundry records and stocktake linen supplies.
Ensure laundry chemicals are used and stored safely in line with COSHH guidelines.
Support care staff by providing clean clothing and linen for residents when needed.
Keep the laundry room clean, tidy and organized at all times.
Assist with disposal of waste in line with home policy.
