Job summary

Nazareth in Lancaster is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our Catering team at the care home. You will support general food preparation and kitchen cleaning, working to high hygiene standards to ensure residents receive meals on time.

Full training will be provided; A Level 2 Food Hygiene is desirable or training available. DBS/PVG checks required; we offer DBS/PVG paid by us, induction, wellbeing support, and access to discounts through Blue Light Card.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable or you will undertake training to gain it.
• Two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure are required.
• Good communication, teamwork and ability to prioritise tasks are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for residents.
• Prepare meal trolleys and trays to the required standard before serving.
• Participate in general kitchen duties and cleaning.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
