Job summary

PSR Solutions in Lockerbie is seeking an experienced Domestic Housekeeper to oversee domestic, laundry and kitchen assistant teams in a care home. This permanent role is based in the Lockerbie area and is ideal for a dedicated professional who can ensure cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout the home.

The role offers a 30-hour week with a pay rate of £13.50 per hour and an annual salary of £21,060, subject to enhanced DBS/PVG/Access NI checks and UK work verification.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic, housekeeping or cleaning roles, ideally in a care home.
• Prior supervisory or team-leading experience.
• Strong cleaning, laundry and hygiene knowledge.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and support a team effectively.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently.
• Caring and respectful approach in a care home environment.
• Satisfactory PVG check required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the domestic, laundry and kitchen assistant services daily.
• Lead and support housekeeping staff to maintain high standards.
• Organise cleaning and laundry duties across the home.
• Ensure communal areas and bedrooms are clean and hygienic.
• Monitor laundry processes and residents' clothing/linen.
• Support kitchen assistants and hygiene standards.
• Manage cleaning and laundry supplies and stock.
• Ensure procedures meet health, safety and infection control.
• Assist with staff rotas and team organisation.
• Work with wider care home team to keep environment welcoming.
