Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a Cook for our care home in the United Kingdom. You will prepare nutritious, home-cooked meals that support residents’ health, wellbeing and enjoyment of mealtimes that are often the day’s highlight.

You will work with a friendly team to create menus reflecting residents’ preferences while meeting dietary, nutritional and cultural needs, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are always maintained. 

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen and ability to prepare meals for larger groups.
• Understanding of nutrition and ability to cater for various dietary requirements.
• Food Hygiene qualification is essential.
• A relevant catering qualification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for residents.
• Plan menus that meet dietary and cultural requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Monitor food stocks and support ordering and stock control.
• Ensure meals are prepared and presented to a high standard.
• Support special events and celebrations through food preparation.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure residents' preferences are reflected in menu choices.
