Job description

Here is what one of our valued Cooks said: “It gives me a great sense of satisfaction to know that our residents enjoy home cooked food, keeping a sense of familiarity in their lives.”

We are a family-run group of Residential and Nursing homes, and we want you to join our Springcare family here at Ringway Mews. We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer, committed to providing a healthy and respectful work culture.

Do you enjoy being creative and have a passion for serving delicious, home-cooked food? We are now recruiting a hardworking, committed cook to join the Kitchen team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Home Manager, the successful applicant will be an organized and helpful leader in a busy kitchen environment. You will be responsible for organizing, preparing, and serving appetizing, freshly prepared food, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and health and safety.

Key to your success will be your experience in the food industry, along with the ability to work as part of a strong kitchen team. Experience in a care setting would be an advantage but is not essential.

This role includes working alternate weekends. Shift patterns are 6 am to 6 pm.

What are we looking for?
  • Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
  • Knowledge of textured/modified diets (advantageous)
What Springcare can offer you:
  • Permanent full and part-time day contracts, with access to our pension scheme
  • Early pay option via Wage Stream App, allowing you to withdraw up to 50% of your earnings in advance
  • Access to Blue Light Card for discounts at various retailers
  • Support with ongoing CPD and fully funded training for nationally recognized qualifications, with career progression opportunities
  • Refer a Friend scheme (T&Cs apply)
  • Access to counselling and wellbeing support
  • Family-friendly policies
  • Streamlined recruitment process through our portal

Applicants will need two written references, a DBS check (standard or enhanced depending on role), and proof of right to work in the UK.
