Job summary

Watford House Care Home in High Peak is seeking a Chef on a contract to deliver nutritious, high quality meals for our 36‑resident home. You will tailor menus to dietary needs and maintain hygiene and presentation to a high standard.

The role offers a strong work–life balance with no late evenings or split shifts, alternate weekends, and benefits such as DBS payment, pension, and uniform. You will work as part of a supportive team, contributing to menu planning and kitchen organisation.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A positive and reliable approach

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals for residents
• Take ownership of food preparation and service, tailoring to dietary needs
• Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety
• Contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and day‑to‑day service
