Job Description:

Care Home Chef (Bank) – Cheshunt, Hertfordshire

Location: Working between Kingfisher Nursing Home, Emmanuel Lodge, College Road, Cheshunt, Herts, EN8 9NQ and Westgate House Care Centre, Tower Road, Ware, Herts, SG7LP.

Hourly rate: Up to £ per hour (depending on experience)

Shifts: 7:am to 3:pm

Job type: Part time, permanent

About the role:

  • Prepare hot and cold meals for residents according to their needs and preferences
  • Assist with planning seasonal menus
  • Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Policy and regulations
  • Carry out checks in the kitchen to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as recording fridge temperatures
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment, including washing and clearing equipment
  • Report all accidents and incidents to the Person-in-Charge of the home

About you:

  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • Previous experience in a similar role and setting (e.g., care home or school) is essential
  • Certificate Level II in Food Safety and Hygiene
  • Knowledge of nutritional needs of older people
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and regulatory requirements
  • A positive, flexible attitude towards work and the ability to work well in a team
