Temp All Staffing are currently recruiting for Care Home Chefs and Relief Chefs throughout the region to expand our growing team. We have exciting positions in various care settings with flexible shifts to suit your needs.

Your role will involve:

  • Preparing, cooking, and serving nutritionally balanced meals
  • Overseeing and managing a team of kitchen assistants

Job Role
  • Create varied menus that incorporate choice, are balanced, and cater to special diets such as low fat, diabetic, or religious requirements
  • Use seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables whenever possible
  • Cater for special occasions within the home
  • Control stocks and purchases, managing material quantities and budgets
  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals; assist with cleaning and washing up
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen after use and at shift end
  • Test and record fridge/freezer and food temperatures daily
  • Operate within current legislation requirements
  • Maintain kitchen equipment as per manufacturers' instructions
  • Supervise and train junior or inexperienced staff
  • Attend meetings, discussions, and training sessions organized by the home or Head Office
Your Skills and Experience
  • Experience working in a care home kitchen environment
  • DBS Update Service preferred
  • Recognized catering qualifications
