An exciting opportunity to join the Operational Management team within the Division of Medicine at Walsall Healthcare Trust.

The post of Care Group Manager is a crucial leadership role within the Trust. The Care Group Manager provides operational leadership to the Care Group, with support from the Director of Operations, Divisional Director, Clinical Directors, and Matrons. The post-holder will be accountable for services within their Care Group and participate in Divisional decision-making. Candidates should demonstrate professional leadership, strategic knowledge, and experience; foster a culture valuing continuing professional development; and strive for excellence in patient care. They must lead by example, aligned with the Trust's values of Respect, Compassion, Professionalism, and Teamwork, and show ambition for the services, staff, and community of Walsall.

The Care Group Manager for Division of Medicine will oversee daily operations, support strategic planning, and ensure service delivery meets financial, activity, patient experience, and quality targets. The role involves collaboration with various departments and external partners, managing elective access, staff management, performance, and governance.

Further responsibilities include:

1. Operational planning and capacity management
2. Developing specialty service plans aligned with strategic goals
3. Implementing business and strategic plans
4. Capacity planning and performance management
5. Developing and leading improvement programs
6. Supporting staff management, recruitment, and staff development

The role is senior, at the Director level, and part-time, within the healthcare provider industry, specifically hospitals and healthcare services.
