Job summary

North Kent College is seeking a compassionate Care-Experienced Safeguarding Officer to champion Looked After Children and Care Leavers. You’ll manage a caseload, support PEP meetings, and liaise with social workers across Hadlow and Tonbridge campuses.

Required: Level 3 safeguarding qualification, knowledge of safeguarding legislation and DfE guidance, excellent IT skills, DBS with barred list, and the ability to travel between campuses with access to a car.

Qualifications

• Level 3 safeguarding qualification or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and DfE guidance.
• Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills.
• Ability to travel between campuses and access to a car.
• Enhanced DBS with barred list check.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Looked After Children and Care Leavers.
• Act as a Designated Member of Staff and support Personal Education Plan meetings.
• Help learners access statutory entitlements and welfare support.
• Work with Virtual Schools, social workers and partners to safeguard learners.
